"Kate Nugent has proven herself to be unfailingly smart, thoughtful, and energetic. She is also a personification of integrity. Her deep commitment to our community as well as her outstanding work ethic have been demonstrated throughout her work with the Board of Civil Authority and the Rotary. She has listened, she has sought residents’ participation in process, she has sought common ground. I am grateful that Kate is now seeking to serve our community as a state representative. She would represent us very, very well," -- Maida F. Townsend, South Burlington State Representative
Resources and needs: our state has to re-imagine and align how we deliver services across sectors, including education, emergency medical response, hospital and healthcare, law enforcement, social work, transportation, and others, with our resources.
Electrification: continuing to transform our energy system as we did at the turn of the last century will be necessary as we adapt to a new climate and mitigate disruptions to our lives.
Education: it will be important to use outcomes, data, and transparency to guide our decision-making around changes we make to our education system and funding to provide the best education possible that Vermonters can afford.
Democracy: we own what we build. When we feel we have control over our lives, we are happier and more engaged. Our government processes should reflect this as much as possible through robust representation and making sure the right roles align with the right level of decision-making.
Transparency: identifying what and who has influenced our decision-making as elected representatives is vital in helping rebuild public faith in our democratic processes.
